REVIEW: Formulate Hair Shampoo & Conditioner
About a month ago, I’ve been contacted by the Hair care company - Formulate. I have been searching to try some personalized shampoo for awhile and it came down to two company - Function of Beauty and also Formulate. Due to all this Covid cases going on, I’ve been hesitant in trying something that I might not like in the end but when Formulate offered me to try for free - I agreed. Of course with accepting their offer, I’m suppose to write out an honest review (hopefully a good one) to help promote their company and also offer to run a giveaway for their product.

Package:
The package arrived nicely with the pumps separated to avoid any leakage causes by it during shipping.
SO here’s a little background of my hair type:
Straight long black hair and flat (sadly after 2 kids my hair volume has dropped significantly). My scalp gets tight during the winter and Vermont’s weather doesn’t help much.
Did I mentioned that when you are personalizing your shampoo & conditioner, it also takes your area’s weather into consideration ! I was slightly impressed with that.
What I’ve asked for:
I went through the questionnaire with my daughter since we both will be using and testing out the shampoo & conditioner. Here’s what we asked for: VOLUME, HYDRATION,
Fragrance that we picked: Green Envy (STRONG)
After 1 month usage:
My daughter LOVES it and ended up washing her hair almost everyday. (That’s a yay for me because I don’t have to ask/nag her to go take a shower anymore LOL)
Hair volume seems much better but I can’t be for sure. There’s still some hair loss after a wash but its much less than before.
Smell: I don’t particularly like the smell although my daughter loves it (she picked the fragrant anyway). I LOVE green tea but it doesn’t quite smell like it in the shampoo if you ask me.
Conditioner works well just like most conditioner do. A little is enough to keep my long hair smooth so that’s a plus.
After 2 months:
Shampoo is empty. Definitely great shampoo that gives my hair the hydration it needs. Conditioner is still left with 1/4 and I think I’ll order a new one just so that we don’t run out.
The fragrant is still not my favorite but I’m getting used to it.
Hair loss is dramatically less but volume wise is still the same.
Overall: LOVING it and don’t mind keeping it.
So would I recommend it?
If you are looking for customized shampoo & conditioner - its a definite YES. Simply because their chemist works along with you and you can always adjust or change and leave feedback to the chemist on their App (pretty convenience in my opinion).
The shampoo worked well and the extra perk that I got along with their product would be getting my daughter eagerly wanting to wash her hair EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.
